Problem & solution 2
Malfunction:
Unable to move the scope with the NWSE keys on the handbox.

Symptoms:
Every function on the LX200 works perfectly, except the NWSE direction keys. No guidance
software like Starry Night Pro, Epoch 2000ip or Cartes du Ciel can niether move the scope
by sending the NWSE commands. But a GOTO cmd or a directly given coordinate will successfully
move the scope.

Solution:
This one is a bit more tricky and requires some time and work. Our fault was in IC
U19 on the LX200 motherboard. It was shorted to ground. The same problem can also appear
with the same fault in IC U11. To find out which one to replace, measure the volts in the
CCD outlet on the powerpanel. Looking in front of the scope the pins are from the left:
18V GND 5V-W 5V-S 5V-N 5V-E. If any of the NWSE pins shows a value close to zero,
then follow the path from this pin to U19 or U11 in the motherboard schematics.
Unsolder and replace, and you're up and running again.

A huge Thank You to Tim Prowten at TelescopeService, CA, who helped us out with this one
